say, where do you live?

Just a little while ago someone emailed me and asked if I lived in Arizona.

I kinda snorted. HA.

Now why on earth would anyone think that? (wink)
Is it because I swoon over the ONE cactus patch in town every time I pass by?

When I drove up, there was a man selling oranges on the corner of the patch. I was like "Mind if I join you?"

He didn't care so I went to the other side and snapped away. Though I'm pretty sure he thought I was loco en la cabeza.

This one is gonna be SIX in a few days. He's doing SO WELL compared to the days of yore.
Why, hello life sized poster of Ollie.

From age 3 to 6, he doubled his life span and morphed into a completely different boy.

Gone are the days of:
endless crying
speech delay
fear of his shadow
suspicion and fighting

Replaced by a boy who is:
pleasant
articulate
curious
friendly, loving and trusting

And mama is no longer pulling out her hair.

We may still have some hurdles to overcome in the future...and he can be a bit belligerent at times...

But we trust all will be ok. Just gotta keep smiling...

...and shakin' your booty with your partner in crime.

From En Vogue...

...to Eminem. Crazy Tweeds.

We love our home sweet home on the range.

A few days later, I got another email asking if I lived in Oklahoma.

LOL. NO.

Though truth be told the landscape of my town resembles Oklahoma in many ways. I can tell you this. I live in California by a bunch of farm fields.

What is the landscape of your town like? Do you like it?

  1. I think I know where that cactus patch is...not far from a certain strawberry patch. Isn't it the property where the couple who owned it were killed in a car accident and where covered in cactus needles when they pulled their bodies out of their wrecked van? Or is that an urban legion? Dunno.

  3. I live in New York and I love the landscape I live around. When most people hear New York they always think of the city, which true New York City is a big thing in New York, but I live about three hours outside of the city in the Catskill mountains. Though alot of New Yorkers come down to where I live and have weekend houses, I think 60% of our population is weekenders up here. But I love our landscapes lots of mountains to hike!!!

  5. Growing up I lived in a suburban neighborhood in Ohio but I could see a cornfield from my bedroom window. One day a friend of mine said she liked that my room had "a view." I had never thought about it like that before, but it made me realize that I liked where I lived. I made sure to take a picture of that view before my parents sold that house.

  6. this is so funny because I've also wondered where the heck you live! Although I was leaning towards Texas. Or maybe I was just hoping since that's where I'll be living come summer's end ;) I definitely did NOT think all those fields were in Cali!
