This weekend I had the honor of making this present for a baby shower.
When I ordered this Strawberry Shortcake fabric, I didn't realize it was the same exact stuff Lorie used for some of her projects. But Lorie graciously said it was ok for me to use it:) JOY!!! Thank you, thank you Lorie! I have not made anything this girlie in while.

ReplyDeleteAH! That's TOO adorable!!!!! I love it. You're very talented.
ReplyDeleteomg that set is ADORABLE! I was lucky enough to find some vintage strawberry shortcake ribbon at a yard sale a few weeks ago! alright you must share your secret of getting your blanket squares so perfectly straight! Granted I am a new sewer (is that a word?) but oy that is sooooo hard for me! Ok enough drooling (& rambling)
ReplyDeleteyes!! You did such a good job- loving the pastels mixed with chocolate brown. Love it. This pregnancy isn't hindering your creativity one bit!
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE!! Do you already get your jumbo rick-rack (ric-rac?) at F&M?
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable! I keep going back and forth on what I want (boy or girl) depending on all the cute things I see. After seeing this post... I'm back to wanting a girl! :-)
ReplyDeleteso adorably cute davi..... love love love strawberry shortcake.
ReplyDeleteADORABLE! I especially love the onesie!
ReplyDeleteI still have my strawberry shortcake sheet from when I was a little girl. Oh, and they had a huge spool of that fabric at F&M last week. Just in case you or Lorie want to scoop up some more!
LOVE IT! Absolutely adorable...you are so talented!!!
ReplyDeleteohmygosh it puts my strawberry stuff to shame!=)
ReplyDeleteSOSOSO cute!
you should do girl stuff more often, LOVE the zig zag stitch...might have to "borrow" that=)
Absolutely adorable! I love both pieces so much! The zig zag is such a fun little touch, and the colors mesh so well. Your sewing gets more and more amazing.
ReplyDeleteOk, trying to remember here. I had Strawberry Shortcake, Apple Dumpling, Apricot Nector, and Huckleberry Pie. You had Blueberry Muffin, Raspberry Tart, Apricot Nector, and Lemon M. I later got Butter Cookie for my birthday. From Trisha Baker, I think? She was in the second or third round of dollies they put out, and then they made so many it got totally out of control and impossible to keep up with.
oh me lordy! that is THE cutest thing i've seen in me life! ha! no seriously, it's THAT cute. i love it! i always thought my lil' redheads would be so cute dressed like strawberry shortcake! k, now i'm weird. do you sell your stuff?!
ReplyDeleteThanks gals!
ReplyDeleteCheeziemommie-most of my sewing friends will all agree that it's sometimes tricky to get all the squares to line up. Try to avoid stretchy fabrics. And if it is stretchy, try to keep it at the bottom, so you can trim it when it stretches. Sometimes when I have my 3 vertical strips(each with 3 squares), I can tell the squares won't line up and then it's time to seam wrip and shorten the squares that are too long. Hope this helps!
Megan-heh, you should have seen me falling asleep behind the wheel of my sewing machine.
Lift Up Your Hearts-I get my ric-rac from Patches and F&M. Also thanks for the tip Barbie!
Lorieloo- Your stuff is darling and always inspiring!
molly june- I do sell my stuff--thanks for asking! For further inquiries, please email me at daviandjessica@yahoo.com
