I'm so excited to tell you about a special organization called 31 bits, which enables woman in Uganda to market and sell their beautiful and stylish handmade jewelry.
The name 31 bits perfectly reflects this business: "31" derived from Proverbs 31, and "bits" from the bits of paper used to make the jewelry. Cool, huh?
I love the team of talented people behind 31 bits. It's impressive to see them use their God-given abilities to help those who are powerless to help themselves.
Plus. They have a great sense of fashion. I get lots of ideas thumbing through their pages.
To better market the jewelry for these Ugandan women, they pay close attention to current trends and designs in fashion. Love it!
And now, for a moment, imagine that you are an impoverished mama in Uganda, watching your kids run around thread-bare and hungry. You have no prospects. No hope. No future. Just hardship and heartache.
And then 31 bits enters the scene.
And they help you feed and clothe your family by teaching you how to sell your jewelry!
For the first time, someone actually cares about you. And they offer to put you through a 4-year-program to give you a future.
You learn English. And how to market your product.
You learn about your health and disease prevention.
You learn about faith and your spiritual well-being.
And more.
Sounds too good to be true. But it IS true. 31 bits is transforming lives!
Ironically my bible reading this week was on Proverbs 31. Verse 31:20 stood out to me--She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
This is where YOU can help! With your lovely jewelry purchase, you will be directly helping these amazing ladies in Uganda.
And to thank you for being such kind readers, I am so very happy to do a giveaway. You can win your very own piece of "31 bits" jewelry: the Sweet Tart necklace in seafoam, value $28.
It even comes with this cute lil' bag.
To enter this giveaway, just leave a comment below. Winner will be selected at random.
I'm opening my comments specifically for this giveaway. Shocking, I know. I would love to know who you are!
