a crucial hat decision.

Yesterday I went to get the mail. Since it was mighty hot out, I grabbed my hat and walked out the door.

Upon my return, I announced to my household "I look like a dork in this hat!"

Our 10-year old neighbor, Libby, happened to be at our house. She took one look at my hat and said "Yah...you kind of do!"{Look like a dork, that is}

That was it! I needed a new hat to brave this intense heat wave {of 106 degrees}. And for that one time I will go to the beach. And let's not forget swim lessons. So I went to Target, immediately.

And proceeded to stand in the hat department for almost an hour. And took a billion blurry photos trying to help myself decide. I had never felt so indecisive. I needed ya'll. I'm not good at picking hats. Obvi. Look at my hat above.

I had 3 hats in my ring. I could not come home with 3 hats. John would kill me.

So I finally settled on these 2 hats, in hopes that I could narrow it down at home. This is a crucial decision folks. I might need your help.


a. Lil mini Cowboy hat


Super casual with the colorful band on top. Initially I wanted something with a black band to be more fancy.


But I reallllly like it! Even though it's not dressy like I originally envisioned. I never in a million years would have selected a cowboy hat...but here we are.


b. Hat with black rim. Looks ok from the side.


But from the front, the sides of the hat look kind of...floopy. Maybe the sides need to be stitched up?

Libby thinks that's too much work to start stitching hats and that I should just keep the cowboy hat.

Perhaps I have been watching too much of The Voice with Blake and his country singers. Yee-haw!

I think I'm leaning toward the cowboy hat, just for funsies.
