Dear Blog,

I know, I know. I've been a bit of a slacker lately. Been very busy lately.

You know, gearing up for the impending arrival of the "baloney loaf" as my father calls it. Just 9 weeks! Eeeek!

So, I have already purchased diapers, bought new onesies, cleaned old clothes, got the bassinet down, got the infant carrier down, packed my hospital bags and decorated the baby's room.

Um, that would be false! I have actually done NONE of the above things. I've done zilcho to prepare for the baby. Nonetheless, I am still on a mission.

John said that he strategically timed our latest garage sale to exactly coincide with my propensity to get rid of everything, 2/3 of the way into the pregnancy.

Really", I questioned him, " I do that?"

"Yep", he said. "Every single time."

He is dead-on right. I cannot believe he was observant enough to note this little quirk of mine.

And sure enough, it was a big factor in the smashing success of our latest garage sale. We pretty much sold everything but the kitchen sink.

Which is fabulous in my estimation, but not so wonderful if you were attached to a certain couch or chair in my living room...or bed in my guestroom. Oops.

Moving on.

So, my living room is now sparse at best. John gave me a good chunk of the proceeds to "fix" it. He really had to twist my arm on that one--"alright already, I'll buy something!" John does not thrive on my cluttered state of being. I'm the messy one and he's the neat freak. We've been likened to Dharma & Greg in that respect.

As a result, there may or may not be a piece of furniture from Craig's list sitting in my parlor, involving yummy tufted velvet.

No more peeking.

I am feeling very sneaksy and covert right now. You will just have to trust me on this one...

Ok, back to embroidering. I'm working on some shirt orders. Hopefully I can soon post some photos of the latest and greatest in the life and times of Calvin.

  2. Um, am I the only one who almost leaped out of my chair and peed my pants when I read how LITTLE TIME you have left before this sweet baby comes!? Oh my gosh... how did time fly by so quickly!?

love the blue chair, and now i'm drooling to see more!

  3. Once i read your "fake" list of things you have already done.... my jaw dropped... I thought "Wow, that girl is good...." then i kept on reading - your a funny one ;)

Anyhow, i can't believe you only have 9 weeks left to find out what this little bundle is... boy, girl??
    To exciting!!!

We go in to have THE ultra sound in 2 weeks - i can't believe it.. I want so badly not to find out and i am using you and Katie "Murphy" as examples.. I hope i can keep that up....

I hope you are doing wonderful - ♥

  4. I love how John noticed that about you when you're pregnant. So sweet! I'm dying to get rid of stuff, too, and NO, I'm not pregnant. Maybe it's that springtime seems to be on its way.

Wow! 9 weeks. I'm w/ Olive Oyl, I didn't realize it was coming so fast. And don't worry, when Lil Major ARRIVED, I didn't have any of those things done. Of course, he surprised us, but it all worked out anyway. I just sent mom to the store w/ my list and my credit card and it all got done. =)

  5. eeek! can't wait to come see it in person!!! isn't it funny how you've come full circle with blue? granted it's a different blue than before, but still...BLUE!=) too funny! can't wait for manana!!!!

  6. you crack me up! i love it! i can't believe you only have 9 weeks either!!! did it go that fast for you?? :) i dream about a tufted couch daily...glad you could live this one out for me :D ha.

  7. eeee!!! I love that blue furniture, whatever it is!! You sneaky thing, I can't WAIT to see what you're up to :)

And I'm so glad I"m not the only one who goes crazy and wants to get rid of and redo everything in sight. It's craziness-- but the after is so fun. :)

  8. Hee-hee! I love this! I can't wait to see the couch, and the garage sale thing is too funny. I started reading this post and laughing at how cute-first-time-mom you were about getting everything ready for baby #4, and then I realized that you were totally kidding. Ha! I did have the crib put up for Elise when I was in the early-last-trimester part of that pregnancy, but that's only because we bought a new crib for her when we saw an amazing deal on something that made me drool at a store that was going out of business. It was do-or-die on that one, so we *did*. Ha! Otherwise, I did zilch to prepare for my last 2 or 3 babies till the last second, due to lack of time and opportunity. LOL!

I am dying to find out who is in your womb!! And I'm really wanting to see the couch, too!

  9. im so glad you did so well at your yard sale! although i am pretty bummed i didnt get to buy half the stuff myself. whatever the new furniture piece may be- it looks really great!
are you selling your handmade items online? if so PLEASE let me know where i can send people/go myself to make an order!

  10. thats from gretchen not michael.

  11. Wow girlie you are almost done! That did go by fast ... I can't wait! And I wish I would be in the mood to clean things up ... I am more in a buy things mood which is VERY BAD! =) Talk to ya soon!

  12. Oh my gosh, are we perhaps long lost sisters?? I totally do the whole sell everything that's not nailed down thing too!! Love the peek at the new sofa!! Looks amazing!!

  13. *CLEARLY I'm behind in my blogging and commenting too! Glad I'm not the only one! :)

*That's HILARIOUS that your husband noted your prenancy notions to get rid of stuff at a certain point...VERY observant of him!!

*And I'm a lil' confused...didn't you just get done redecorating your living room??? Or is that a different room you just made UBER cute?! Either way...can't wait to see the rest of that blue chair!
